The Kansas City school district’s proposed sale to Foutch Brothers and its potential partner, Academie Lafayette, is not expected to come to a vote this week.

The potential sale of Westport High School remains in negotiation limbo.

The Kansas City school district is still weighing a deal with the Foutch Brothers real estate firm, which brings a potential partnership with a charter school, Academie Lafayette.

The sale of the Westport High building, which originally was turned down in a split vote by the Kansas City school board in March, is not expected to go to a new vote when the board meets Wednesday, board President Jon Hile said.

The board will receive a report on the negotiations in closed session, Hile said, but he expects more time is needed before the board will be ready to make a move.

“The district is continuing to evaluate its options,” he said.
