Child critically injured after car strikes bike in Peculiar

A child was in critical but stable condition Wednesday night after bring struck by a vehicle in Peculiar.

The child was on a bicycle shortly before 5:30 p.m. when the accident occurred near South and East Third streets, the West Peculiar Fire Protection District said. The child, whose age and gender was not listed, was flown by air ambulance to a hospital.
