Bones found in KCK identified as those of Topeka man
Bones found last month near the Kansas River in Kansas City, Kan., have been identified as those of a 32-year-old Topeka man.
Travis D. Webster was identified through dental records, police said Monday.
A fisherman spotted the remains Aug. 29 near 42nd Street and Speaker Road, police said. More were found over the next two days.
Police are continuing to investigate and ask anyone with information to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (816-474-8477).
Webster was the father of two daughters and had a stepson, according to his obituary. He did lawn and landscaping work.
According to online court records, he was facing theft charges in Shawnee County District Court and last appeared in court July 2.
He did not show up for his next court appearance in early August, according to the records.
