Former Olathe school bus driver faces child sex charge
A former school bus driver in Olathe has been charged with taking indecent liberties with a child.
Authorities said that the charge against 51-year-old Philip Wesley Brown did not involve a student related to his job.
The charge filed in Johnson County District Court accuses Brown of fondling a child born in 2007. The alleged crime occurred in February in Olathe.
Brown was arrested and made his first appearance in court Wednesday. A judge set his bond at $50,000. He remained in custody Thursday.
The bus company reported that Brown was terminated last month after company officials learned of the allegations.
