9 DUI arrests at sobriety checkpoint
The Kansas City Police Department and Jackson County Sheriff Deputies stopped 308 vehicles Friday night at Blue Ridge Boulevard and Holiday Drive and arrested nine people for driving under the influence.
The sobriety checkpoint also recovered two firearms. One person was charged with possession of a stolen firearm.
Nine drivers were cited for driving with suspended or revoked licenses. Other violations included one possession of cocaine, five possessions of marijuana, and one charge of resisting arrest.
The police department said another sobriety checkpoint will be conducted “from 5-2-2014 to 5-4-2014 in an area known for alcohol related crashes or DUI arrests.”
