Woman is accosted by flasher in Shawnee Mission Park

A woman was reading a book in her car at Shawnee Mission Park on Wednesday when a man approached her, exposed himself and grabbed her breast, according to Johnson County Park Police.

Michael James Erler, 31, of Overland Park, was charged Thursday in Johnson County District Court with sexual battery and lewd behavior. He was released on $1,000 bond.

An Olathe police spokesman said the case is believed to be unrelated to an incident earlier Wednesday in that city when a man exposed himself to an 11-year-old girl.
