Injured good Samaritan identified as Gardner man, in ICU

The good Samaritan injured Friday helping a motorist on Kansas 10 has been identified as Eric P. Martin, a 41-year-old Gardner resident. He is in critical condition at an area hospital’s intensive care unit.

Martin had stopped his car and got out to help the driver of a Jeep whose vehicle was stopped in the right hand lane the highway.

The driver of a Toyota in the westbound lanes swerved to avoid the stalled Jeep but struck it anyway and hit Martin, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on Kansas 10 near the intersection with Kansas 7.
