Southbound I-35 in Kansas City, North, returns to normal following multi-vehicle crash

Southbound Interstate 35 in Kansas City, North, was at a standstill during Wednesday morning’s rush hour after a multi-vehicle crash forced the highway to be temporarily closed.

The crash happened about 7:40 a.m. near Chouteau Trafficway and quickly backed up traffic beyond the Interstate 435 interchange.

The crash closed southbound I-35 for a while during rush hour. Vehicles later squeezed by on the right shoulder.

Traffic was at a standstill near North Brighton Avenue.

All lanes of the highway were reopened shortly after 8:30 a.m. Traffic has returned to normal.
