Big temperature drop coming to area
Don’t put those winter coats in storage just yet.
Parts of Missouri and Kansas could see a 50-degree temperature drop in less than a 24-hour period. Worse yet, a few places will likely see an inch or two of snow on Wednesday.
High temperatures in much of the area will reach well into the 70s Tuesday, but that will be replaced by windy conditions and temperatures in the low 30s Wednesday morning.
National Weather Service meteorologist Ben Miller says the good news is that the ground is warm enough to prevent slick roads. The cold front is also short-lived – temperatures rebound to the 50s Thursday.
