Fatal shooting in KC might be related to non-fatal shooting

Two shooting victims showed up at different hospitals early Sunday in Kansas City within one minute of each other.

One victim died. The other survived. Police are investigating whether the two shootings are connected.

The first victim arrived at a hospital at 1:23 a.m. He had been driven there by a friend. The victim, believed to be in his 20's, soon died from his injuries.

Investigators said they didn't know where the fatal shooting occurred or any details about it.

One minute later, someone drove a second shooting victim to a different hospital. That shooting is believed to have occurred at 16th Street and White Avenue, where police received reports of gunfire.

Homicide investigators released no further details.
