Reports: Erin Andrews to co-host ‘Dancing With the Stars’

Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews is heading (back) to the ballroom.

She competed on “Dancing With the Stars” four years ago, making it all the way to third place. Now she’s set to replace co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet, who was unceremoniously dumped last week.

Here’s hoping for some post-tango Richard Sherman-like rants.

Brooke, also a former “Dancing” competitor who co-hosted the show for seven seasons, told her Twitter followers on Friday that she had been fired.

“weird day….Shocking pre-season elimination #DWTS…ME. @Tom_Bergeron didn't even read my name. I won't be returning to the show this season,” she tweeted.

Fox Sports officials confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that Andrews will join the ABC reality show. The former ESPN reporter will do her sports job at the same time.

Who knows how longtime fans of the show will react to all the changes coming. Last month, ABC also fired bandleader Harold Wheeler and the entire band, a move viewers met largely with scorn.

Andrews will debut on the new season of “DWTS” alongside Tom Bergeron on March 17. The new batch of celebrity contestants will be announced Tuesday.
