Kearney man dies in cycle crash

A 57-year-old Kearney man was killed early Monday when the motorcycle he was driving struck a tree.

Joseph W. Loyd was westbound on U.S. 24 about half a mile east of Holly Road at 12:15 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve and left the road, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
