UMKC improves to 2-0 in conference for first time since 2007
Nelson Kirksey scored 25 points as UMKC defeated the Seattle Redhawks 95-84 on Saturday night.
The win ran the Kangaroos’ Western Athletic Conference record to 2-0, marking the first time that UMKC has won its first two conference games since 2007.
UMKC made 11 of 20 three-pointers. The Kangaroos opened the first half on a 27-17 run.
UMKC women winAll five starters scored in double figures for UMKC’s women, who beat Seattle 77-65 at the Swinney Recreation Center. The Kangaroos, 5-10, were led by Elise O’Connor with 23 points.
