Who got that friendship bracelet Travis Kelce made for Taylor Swift? Not her

Three years ago today — on July 8, 2023, as the story now goes — Travis Kelce really, really, really wanted to give Taylor Swift a beaded friendship bracelet after her Eras Tour concert at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

It was similar to the thousands of bracelets Swifties were swapping nationwide at the concerts, except it had his phone number on it.

It was Night 2 of the singer’s stand at Arrowhead, a night Swifties revisited on social media Wednesday.

Kelce wanted to meet Swift and he kinda, sorta had a plan on how he would get the bracelet to her after the show. Certainly being a Chief would give him access to the superstar, he figured.

Nope.

“He didn’t even reach out to our management,” Swift revealed in August when she appeared on the “New Heights” podcast hosted by Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce.

“He thought because he knew the elevator lady, that he could talk to her about just getting down.”

“That’s how it works,” Kelce joked.

“That’s how it works in 1973. He really just was like, ‘I know a guy. I can figure this out,’” Swift said.

So the two never got to meet that night.

And after Kelce publicly declared he was “butt hurt” that he missed his chance, Swift decided to give him a shot.

She said on the podcast that because she doesn’t spend a lot of time online — never checks her DMs, rarely reads social media — “this kind of felt more like I was in an ‘80s John Hughes movie and he was just like standing outside of my window with a boom box just being like, ‘I want to date you. Do you want to go on a date with me? I made you a friendship bracelet. Do you want to date me?’

“I was like, if this guy isn’t crazy — which is a big if — this is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager.”

“I’ve never seen the original,” Swift said of the bracelet.

“Yeah, they didn’t leave the stadium because I was butt hurt,” Kelce said, suggesting he had more than one bracelet at the ready.

Suggesting, that a trash can at Arrowhead got the bracelet?

Maybe for their one-year anniversary he could have another made.
