Johnson County to hire for 27 new jobs if proposed budget passes. See the positions
If the Johnson County Board of County Commissioners approves the budget in September, 27 new jobs would be approved for 2027, county officials said.
County officials said that most of the new positions are paid for through non-tax revenue or the reallocation of current revenue.
One parks and recreation position and three library positions will have an impact on property tax if the budget is approved.
The salaries are not yet posted for each position, but will be posted with the job listings if the budget is approved. The vote on the budget will be held on Sept. 3.
Here are the new positions by department.
- Seven positions for a new MED-ACT ambulance (funded by fee revenue)
- Eight positions for motor vehicles front line staff (funded with new state-approved motor vehicle fee revenue)
- Two positions for a Legal Systems Specialist and a County Counselor Litigations specialist (funded by reallocations)
- One position for a new assistant superintendent for the new Nelson Plant (funded by waste water user fees)
- Nine positions for parks and recreation and library (funded by those district’s mill levies and JCPRD Enterprise funds)
