Nearly 150 new apartments are coming to a Rosedale corner in Kansas City, Kansas.

The Unified Government’s planning commission approved a final plan last week for the future Woodside Village Rosedale development at 4601 Rainbow Blvd., a seven-story building with 149 “high-end” units and an internal parking garage. The project will tie into the existing Woodside Village North and Woodside fitness club across the street.

In the works for the past few years, construction could begin by the end of 2026 and would need to be finished by summer 2029 under an agreement with the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and KCK, according to county documents. It’s expected to include a mix of studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom units.

The project’s website says that it will be the “front door” to Wyandotte County — near the 39 Rainbow development off Marty Avenue and the University of Kansas Medical Center — with new landscaping and better infrastructure for pedestrians.

The Unified Government previously approved incentives to support the project that include sales tax breaks and a property tax break on the development, according to county documents. The owner would instead pay about $1.7 million over the next 10 years, which would be more revenue per year than the underdeveloped lot currently generates.

Woodside Village Rosedale would join apartment projects in the area on both sides of the state line that have either opened, like The Citizen in Volker and The Hudson near KU Med, or are planned, like Hickok Homes’ proposed project off 39th Street and Roanoke Road.
