A Tonganoxie man was sentenced Wednesday to more than seven years in prison for possessing and distributing child pornography.

Ridge T. Vincent, 23, pleaded guilty in April to aggravated internet trading in child pornography and sexual exploitation of a child.

For those counts, Vincent was sentenced to a total of 91 months in the Kansas Department of Correction, according to a new release from Leavenworth County Attorney Todd Thompson’s office.

In late 2024, a mobile instant messaging application known as Kik reported “apparent child pornography” to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the release said. That report was then sent to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

The KBI’s work identified Vincent as a suspect, Thompson’s office said.

“Investigators obtained chat transcripts and conducted a forensic examination of Vincent’s cellphone,” the release said. “The investigation revealed evidence that Vincent received and viewed child pornography through the internet.”

Thompson applauded the work of the KBI, Leavenworth Police Department and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Their work, he said, was helpful in “bringing this case to justice and protecting children from further harm.”

“Every image and video of child sexual abuse represents a real child who was exploited and victimized,” Thompson said. “Those who view, possess, trade or distribute this material fuel the market that perpetuates that abuse.”
