From Arrowhead, Gracie Hunt & fiance Derek Green announce World Cup ticket giveaway
As they plan their upcoming wedding, Gracie Hunt and her fiance, Derek Green, are sharing the love with soccer fans.
In a joint announcement filmed at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, the couple announced Tuesday that they are giving away two tickets to the June 27 World Cup match between Algeria and Austria.
The match will be played at Arrowhead, a stadium both Hunt — the daughter of Kansas City Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt — and Green know well. Green is the son of former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green.
“Derek and I are so grateful for your love and support so we wanted to do something special for you guys,” Hunt said in an Instagram post.
One person, chosen at random, will receive two tickets and will be notified by DM on Sunday.
A couple of the Instagram-oriented requirements: You must follow Hunt on Instagram and add her post to your own Instagram story, tagged @GracieHunt.
She’d also like to hear why you love soccer and who you plan to take to the match. (Other requirements are on her post.)
Hunt announced in December that she would serve as Kansas City’s official FIFA World Cup Hospitality Captain.
Celebrities in each host city will serve as these global ambassadors, connecting with fans and promoting local tourism and culture.
Actors Cobie Smulders from “How I Met Your Mother” and Rob Lowe, singer Ciara, former NBA player Carmelo Anthony and soccer great Megan Rapinoe are also serving as hospitality captains in Canada and the United States.
On Tuesday, the Instagram account of the hospitality team turned its Instagram Stories over to Hunt, who gave tips to soccer fans on a topic she is an expert on: game-day fashion.
Here’s some advice she shared: Don’t break in a new pair of high heels on game day.
Green proposed to Hunt over Easter weekend in April. The ticket giveaway is their first public project together since the engagement.
They have not shared a wedding date yet.
