Some Kansas City-area grocery stores will have their doors open on Memorial Day, meaning you have last-minute options in case you forgot to buy sunscreen or hot dog buns for your holiday cookout.

What stores are closed on Memorial Day in Kansas City?
Only one grocery store is closed on Memorial Day throughout Kansas City: Costco. All warehouses close on the holiday, but are open from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Only one store has modified hours on Memorial Day: Aldi. All locations in the Kansas City area close at 6 p.m. Monday, while opening hours vary by store.
United Market, the newest grocery store that opened its doors Wednesday, May 20, at the former Sun Fresh location at 3110 Prospect Ave., did not respond to phone calls asking for its holiday hours. It’s typically open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
