Teen found dead in wooded area of Kansas City, Kansas. Police investigating

Police are investigating the death of a 17-year-old boy after his body was found in a wooded area Saturday morning in Kansas City, Kansas, a police spokesperson said.

Shortly after 11 a.m., a caller reported that there was an unconscious male in the 300 block of Stewart Avenue, said Nancy Chartrand of the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

Officers responded to the area and found the teen’s body in a wooded area. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are investigating his death as a death investigation.

The teen has been identified as a 17-year-old resident of KCK. His name was being withheld. Further information regarding his death was pending the results of an autopsy and further investigation.

The KCK Police Department’s major case unit is investigating the teen’s death. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477). All tips remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
