Nearly 30 guns were stolen from an Overland Park pawn shop in a Sunday morning burglary, and authorities are offering thousands of dollars in reward money for information about the incident.

The federal government’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said in a news release Tuesday that thieves had broken into a pawn shop near the intersection of West 75th Street and Switzer Road early Sunday morning and stolen nearly 30 firearms from wall displays and display cases.

The release said suspects used a stolen vehicle to ram through the front of the business before entering the store and making off with the weapons.

Surveillance video released by the ATF showed three people scrambling out of the store around a car that was smashed through the business’s front entrance. One person could be seen wearing brightly colored pants. The agency also released an image of a blue car that it said was used as a get-away vehicle after the burglary.

The business that was broken into was the Alpha Pawn location at 10211 W. 75th St.

“Does anybody recognize this loser in the pink/orange adidas pants?” the business said in a Facebook post with the surveillance video. “Pretty memorable piece of clothing to be wearing for a smash and grab.”

The ATF said it was offering a $5,000 reward that would be matched by the National Shooting Sports Foundation for a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to those responsible for the burglary.

Anyone with information about the break-in may contact investigators at 1-888-ATF-TIPS or ATFTips@atf.gov. Information can also be submitted anonymously at ReportIt.com.
