The Kansas City sports scene will be welcoming a new team this summer, and it’s not just the international soccer teams playing in the World Cup.
The Kansas City Diamonds is one of seven teams playing in the inaugural season of the Pro Softball League in 2026. Games for the Diamonds will be played at Legends Field, the home of the Kansas City Monarchs.
The team begins its 39-game season next month, where they will play against teams based in Atlanta, St. Louis, Florida and New York. Here’s what to know about the Diamonds season opener.
When will the Diamonds’ season start?
The Diamonds’ first home game is Friday, June 12, at the Atlanta Smoke. Their home opener is Wednesday, June 17, where they host the Florida Vibe.
The last regular season home stand will be July 23-26 against the Atlanta Smoke. The Diamonds wrap up regular season play July 29-Aug. 1 at the St. Louis Gatekeepers. Postseason play begins Aug. 5 in Birmingham, Alabama.
How much are tickets to see the Kansas City Diamonds?
Tickets are available online, thekcdiamonds.com. The cheapest ticket you can find is an outfield reserved seat for $17.50. Seats near home plate will run you $37.50.
The home opener will also feature a fireworks show. First pitch is expected for 6:35 p.m.
How else can I watch the Diamonds game?
PSL previously said that the season will be broadcast on the All Women’s Sports Network, placing league coverage on streaming platforms including Amazon Prime, Pluto TV, and DirecTV.
Who is on the KC Diamonds?
Twelve players are currently on the roster, according to the team’s website. The teams most recent signing was Cori McMillan, who was an All-American outfielder at Virginia Tech.
Laurin Krings, a right-handed pitcher for the Diamonds, played at the University of Missouri. She finished her collegiate career on a high note, posting a 17-10 record, a 2.38 ERA and helping the Tigers make the postseason.
