The Waldo QuikTrip was torn down last fall. When will rebuilt KC store open?
The Waldo QuikTrip that has been closed for months is set to reopen with renovations this summer.
The location at Wornall Road and Gregory Boulevard in Kansas City is scheduled to open in early June with a new Generation 3S design, according to Aisha Jefferson, a spokesperson for QuikTrip.
QuikTrip, a popular Midwest-based gasoline chain, is popular for its QT Kitchen that sells pizza and hot dogs, as well as its drink selection and clean bathrooms. It was founded in Tulsa in 1958, and has since expanded to over 1,000 locations in 17 states, according to its website.
“We decided to tear down and rebuild our location at 344 W. 72nd St. Kansas City, MO 64114 to offer a better experience for our customers,” Jefferson said. “Construction on the new Generation 3 store began on September 22, 2025, and the rebuilt facility remains on the same site.”
The new QuikTrip store will be about 5,300 square feet and adjacent to the previous one. It will have improved traffic flow, eight gasoline pumps and new design. Inside, customers will see QT Kitchen with signature food, grab-and-go meals and a variety of coffee.
An exact opening date has not been announced.
