Happy patio season: 15 rooftops and patios to check out in Kansas City

Get your sunglasses and sunscreen ready; it’s officially patio season in Kansas City.

Many establishments have already opened up their patios with the weather warming up. Whether you’re looking to eat, drink or chill, there are plenty of options across the metro.

Here’s a list of 15 establishments with rooftops and patios through Kansas City.

Brookside Barrio

This taquería-inspired restaurant and bar has three locations, all of which have outdoor patios.

Where: Brookside is at 6227 Brookside Plaza, Briarcliff is at 4125 N. Mulberry Drive and Red Bridge is at 11118 Holmes Road.

Hours: Brookside is open 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Friday; 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays, and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sundays. Briarcliff and Red Bridge share the same hours, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays, and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sundays.

The Brick

This bar and grill has daily lunch and dinner menus Monday through Friday that you can find online.

Where: 1727 McGee St.

Hours: 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Mondays, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday. The restaurant is closed on Sunday.

The Classic Cup Cafe

Located on the plaza, visitors will have plenty of food options thanks to this cafes large menu.

Where: 301 W. 47th St.

Hours: 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Char Bar

At this barbecue joint, you can enjoy the fire place and outdoor games as you sit outside. There’s also plans to bring it to Olathe.

Where: The Westport location is 4050 Pennsylvania. Parkville is at 15348 Old Town Drive.

Hours: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. -11 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturdays, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sundays for both locations.

City Barrel Pizza + Patio

This brewery and pub has two locations to choose from.

Where: The Crossroads location is 1740 Holmes St., and the Brookside/Waldo location at 120 E. Gregory Boulevard

Hours: Brookside/Waldo is closed Mondays, open 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Crossroads location: Closed Sundays and Mondays, open 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. Friday through Saturday.

Gram & Dun

There’s two Gram & Dun locations, one of them being a Plaza staple with upscale dining. This year, a new location opened in the Argosy Casino in Riverside, which features a 100-person patio.

Where: The Plaza location is at 600 Ward Parkway, and the Riverside location is at 777 NW Argosy Casino Parkway

Hours: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Fridays, 9:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturdays, 9:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Sundays

John’s Big Deck

This three-story bar is located in the Power & Light District.

Where: 928 Wyandotte St.

Hours: 11 a.m.-3 a.m. Monday through Sunday

La Bodega

You can find this popular tapas restaraunt in the Crossroads.

Where: 703 Southwest Blvd.

Hours: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Maloney’s Sports Bar & Grill

This sports bar has plenty of outdoor seating, with a rooftop and a ground-floor patio.

Where: 7201 W. 79th St., Overland Park

Hours: 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Monday through Sunday. Kitchen closes at midnight Monday through Saturday, 11 p.m. Sundays.

Messenger Coffee Co.

This coffee shop has multiple locations, including a Crossroads location with a rooftop, and a Country Club Plaza location with a patio.

Where: The Crossroads spot is at 1624 Grand Blvd. On the Country Club Plaza, it’s 4771 Jefferson St.

Hours: Crossroads: 7 a.m.-5 p.m. every day. Country Club Plaza: 6:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Percheron Rooftop Bar

This bar is located on the rooftop of the Crossroads Hotel, 2101 Central St.

Hours: 4-11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to midnight Friday through Saturday

Prime Social

This rooftop patio is one of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s favorite spots in Kansas City.

Where: 4622 Pennsylvania Ave.

Hours: 4-11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 3 p.m.-midnight Fridays and Saturdays, 3-10 p.m. Sundays

Sandbox

Located in the Northland, Sandbox is a full entertainment district with six sand volleyball courts, five pickleball courts, and an expansive cornhole and yard games area.

Where: 509 NW Barry Road

Hours: 10 a.m.-midnight Sunday, 11 a.m.-midnight Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-1:30 a.m. Saturday

Tin Roof

This outdoor patio is known for its outdoor music sets.

Where: 424 Westport Road

Hours: 4 p.m.-midnight Mondays and Tuesdays, 4 p.m.-3 a.m. Wednesday through Friday, 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Saturday, 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Sundays

Up/Down

Travis and Jason Kelce previously spent hours at this arcade bar in the Crossroads.

Where: 101 Southwest Blvd.

Hours: 3 p.m.–1:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.–1:30 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays
