The family of a man in Belton didn’t believe he won big on a Powerball drawing in February.

He had to convince them that ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers and the Powerball number from the Feb. 11 drawing. He didn’t say which four numbers he drew, but the winning numbers were 6, 20, 33, 40 and 48, and the Powerball number was 5.

“I called my wife and told her to come to my office and had her look at it,” he said to the Missouri Lottery. “She goes, ‘Yeah, you got four numbers and the Powerball. How much did you win? $1,000?’”

“I scrolled down the website and showed her - $50,000.”

He also said that his daughter didn’t believe him and that she had to call her mom to confirm the news.

The winning lottery ticket was purchased at QuikTrip, 501 E. North Ave., in Belton.

Players in Cass County won more than $14.5 million in prizes, according to Missouri Lottery. The next Powerball drawing is Saturday, March 14, with a jackpot of $75 million.

A Missouri player also won $1 million from Wednesday, March 11’s Powerball drawing after their ticket matched the five white ball numbers, but the location has not been revealed yet.
