12-year-old missing from Kansas City since Sunday found safe

A 12-year-old boy who had been missing since Sunday from Kansas City has been found safe, a police spokesman said.

Nariek D. Thomas disappeared while riding a black and gray bicycle about 9 p.m. Sunday in the area of East 12th Street and Prospect Avenue in Kansas City’s Independence Plaza neighborhood, said Capt. Jake Becchina with the Kansas City Police Department.

His family had been unable to find him and were worried about his well-being, Becchina said.

Nariek was found and was safe, Becchina said in an update Wednesday afternoon.
