Two killed, four injured in wrong-way crash early Sunday in Kansas City, Kansas

Two people died, and four others were seriously injured in a wrong-way crash early Sunday in Kansas City, Kansas, a police spokeswoman said.

Police on Monday afternoon identified the persons killed in the crash as 30-year-old Tiera Laster of Kansas City and 37-year-old Ashli McGough of Kansas City, Kansas.

A preliminary investigation found that at about 12:40 a.m. Sunday, a vehicle headed west on Quindaro Boulevard collided with a vehicle that was headed east in the westbound lanes near North 10th Street, said police spokeswoman Nancy Chartrand of the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

Video obtained from the scene shows the driver of the eastbound vehicle crossed the double line into the westbound lanes and struck the vehicle driven by Laster. The wrong-way driver, who was alone in the vehicle, and three passengers from Laster’s vehicle remain hospital in serious to critical condition.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s traffic division was investigating the crash and asks that anyone with information call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
