Kansas City police investigate Wednesday homicide after man shot outside casino
Kansas City police are investigating a Wednesday night homicide after a man with a gunshot wound was found in a parking lot outside a casino.
Officers responded to the 1800 block of East Front Street at 9:30 p.m. on a reported shooting. Once they arrived, police located the man and officers began performing life-saving measures, a police news release said.
Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital; he died a short time later, the release said. Police identified the deceased man Thursday morning as Aundre Harris Jr., 18.
According to preliminary information, police said there was a “disturbance” between individuals inside the Bally’s Kansas City Casino. That disturbance led to the parking lot altercation where shots were fired.
Officers took a “subject of interest” into custody at the scene, police said, pending further investigation.
If anyone was in the area and heard or saw anything or has any information they are asked to contact homicide detectives directly at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously to the TIPS hotline.
