Missing Kansas City man found safe after weeks-long search, police say

A Kansas City man who went missing more than two weeks ago was found safe this week, police said.

Shelton Gray, 53, went missing around 4 p.m. Dec. 19 in the area of E. 40th Street and Hardesty Ave in Kansas City’s Vineyard neighborhood, according to a news release.

Gray’s family told police they were worried about his health and safety, and that they had not heard from him for weeks.

In an email Tuesday, Officer Alayna Gonzalez, a spokeswoman with the Kansas City Police Department, said Gray has been safely located.

Anyone with information about missing persons in Kansas City is urged to contact the KCPD missing person’s unit at 816-234-5043.
