Couple, son found shot to death in Riverside townhouse after open-line 911 call
Officers responding to a 911 call over the weekend found three family members dead of gunshot wounds inside a townhouse in Riverside, a police spokesman said.
Riverside police and fire dispatchers received a 911 call about 1 a.m. Saturday where no one spoke, but the line stayed open, prompting officers to respond to the Riverside Townhouses community in the 4700 block of Northwest Riverside Drive, said Det. Shaun Zufelt with the Riverside Police Department.
There, officers found the home where the call originated and knocked at the front door and identifying themselves as police. When they didn’t get a response, they entered the townhouse to check the wellbeing of the residents, Zufelt said.
Officers found the family members on the second floor of the home. All three were dead due to apparent gunshot wounds, Zufelt said. Police identified the deceased Monday afternoon as 80-year-old Larry Wilson, 78-year-old Marcia Wilson and their son, 55-year-old Gary Wilson.
Riverside police do not believe there is any current threat to the public, Zufelt said.
Police continue to investigate the deaths and notify family members. Police were unable to release additional details, Zufelt said.
