Bone-chilling wind gusts expected before temperatures rise for New Year’s

Sunday’s hazardous weather outlook that brought snow may have passed, but the bone-chilling wind will still be in play Monday morning before temperatures rise this week.

Wind chill values sit between -3 and 7 degrees, with wind gusts as high as 33 mph, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Monday is expected to be sunny with a high of 26 and a low of 18. Wind speeds will drop to 18 mph at night.

Tuesday is set to be much warmer, with a high of 42 degrees and low around 27, according to the forecast. The winds will die down to between 3 and 8 mph.

The warmer temperatures and lower wind speeds will stick around for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Both days will be sunny with highs of 46 and 37 respectively, and lows around 25.
