85-year-old Overland Park woman seriously injured in armed disturbance

The Olathe Police Department is investigating an armed disturbance Saturday that left an 85-year-old woman seriously injured.

Police responded around 12:30 p.m. to the 14600 block of West 119th Street for an armed disturbance with a blunt force object, according to Sgt. John Moncayo with the Overland Park Police Department.

There, officers found a woman with serious injuries. A 50-year-old man was located at the scene and taken into custody. There is no active threat to the public, according to Moncayo.
