7 Kansas City-area grocery store chains are closed on Thanksgiving. See which

If you run out of dinner rolls or whipped cream on Thanksgiving, your options might be limited for Kansas City-area grocery stores open Nov. 27, 2025.

Various grocery stores will be open Thursday on both the Missouri and Kansas sides, including Overland Park, Olathe, Independence, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs and Lenexa.

Those stores could save the day if you need to welcome an extra guest, or pick up a snack on your way to a restaurant’s holiday meal or the Plaza lighting ceremony.
