A woman is dead following a fatal crash near Linwood and Broadway boulevards on Oct. 29 .

Ramona Walters, 66, was pronounced dead Thursday, Oct. 30 according to Kansas City Police Department spokesperson Capt. Jake Becchina.

Emergency personnel responded to reports of a crash near Linwood and Broadway boulevards at 12:17 p.m., according to a previous news release from Kansas City police .

A preliminary investigation found that a silver Dodge Journey was traveling south on Broadway Boulevard when the driver “suffered a possible medical emergency,” Becchina said.

The Dodge continued to travel south through the grass before striking the side of the VFW building and coming to a stop, Becchina said.

Both the driver and Walters were taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver remains at an area hospital, Becchina said in an email to The Star Monday.
