Chiefs fans, Ed Kelce, Jason Kelce all dined on 1587 Prime fare before ‘MNF’ game
Good luck if one of your holiday wishes is to dine at 1587 Prime, the upscale steakhouse recently opened in Kansas City by Chiefs superstars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. Reservations are largely booked through the end of the year.
Of course, if your last name happens to be Kelce ...
Ed Kelce and Jason Kelce — father and brother to Travis — dined together at the restaurant on Sunday, the night before the Chiefs beat the Commanders on “Monday Night Football.”
Erika Stahl, known as ladyofskc on Instagram, posted photos of herself and her husband with the Kelce men inside the restaurant on Sunday.
“So my husband and I got to meet @jason.kelce and @papakelce tonight! My husband surprised me with a special wedding anniversary date dinner tonight at 1587 prime and it was delicious,” she wrote.
On Monday, the restaurant treated Chiefs fans to their own sampling of the fare.
Fans waited in line for 90 minutes or longer at the restaurant’s tailgate party at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium before the game.
The restaurant cooked up hamburgers for fans. The party included a band on stage and two singers from the restaurant.
“We were in line for over 90 minutes but it was tasty!” declared one fan on Facebook.
“We each got a Kingdom Burger (double patty smash burger). Very good. There were no wine pairings,” wrote another Chiefs fan on Facebook.
The burger on the restaurant’s menu has become one of its most popular offerings. It’s called “The Big Red” — named for Chiefs head coach Andy Reid — a Wagyu smash burger, double patties, with white cheddar cheese, onion, tomato, a “secret” KC sauce and truffle fries. It costs $38.
Chiefs fans got their burgers for free, as well a couple of freebies including a black foam can koozie with the name of the restaurant in gold lettering.
For the tailgate, the burger was described as a “Kingdom Burger” featuring a “secret Kelce sauce.”
A few people posted negative reviews about the burger — as in this back-and-forth on Facebook.
“Bread looks krusty but enjoy!!”
“It was delicious.”
“That doesn’t look good.”
Must have been Commanders fans?
