A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a vehicle near Penn Valley Park in Kansas City on Saturday.
The pedestrian was on a crosswalk headed west on 31st Street near Southwest Trafficway around 11 p.m., according to Sgt. Philip DiMartino, spokesperson for the Kansas City Police Department. At the same time, a blue Mazda CX-9 traveling north on Southwest Trafficway had a green traffic light and hit the pedestrian.
