Can I bring a bag inside Chappell Roan’s Kansas City concerts? What to know
More than 60,000 guests are coming in from all directions to Kansas City for pop star Chappell Roan’s two shows Friday, Oct. 3, and Saturday, Oct. 4, and they are warned to travel lightly when making their way to the show grounds.
The Willard, Missouri, singer and LGBTQ+ icon brings her limited tour — called Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things — to Museum and Memorial Park, located on the north lawn of the National World War I Museum and Memorial. The show is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. each day, with gates opening at 4 p.m.
Fans can line up starting at 2 p.m., and if you want to get in fast to secure your preferred watching spot, Roan’s website recommends leaving the bags at home.
The concert website reads at the top: “Fans are encouraged to bring no bags to expedite entry. Please travel light and review the bag policy and permitted/prohibited items before the show. Following these guidelines will help you get into the venue faster.”
Does this mean bags are banned from the show grounds? Here’s what’s allowed inside the concerts in Kansas City.
What is Chappell Roan’s bag policy?
While fans are encouraged to bring no bags, they aren’t prohibited from the venue. Roan is using a similar bag policy enforced at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium for Chiefs games, and at other outdoor venues, like Starlight Theatre.
Any bag between 6” by 2” by 9” and 12” by 6” by 12” must be clear and have a single compartment. Bags larger than these dimensions are not permitted, and any bag smaller does not need to be clear, according to her website.
If you bring a bag larger or do not want to carry your permitted bag inside the venue grounds, storage lockers will be available near the main entrance between Kessler Road and Wyandotte Street. Bags will be checked by security before entering the venue and storing them in lockers, and any bags in lockers must be removed after the show.
