KC can prove soccer city status at Premier League Fan Fest this weekend. What to know
Fox brought its NFL pre-game broadcast to Kansas City’s Power & Light District last weekend. This weekend, a different sports league takes over the entertainment district.
NBC’s soccer pre-match show Premier League Mornings Live will be live from KC Live! Saturday, Sept. 20, and Sunday, Sept. 21. The Kansas City stop will take place during the broadcast of a big matchup for England’s top soccer division: Arsenal vs. Manchester City.
The free, two-day fan festival is in Kansas City for the first time, and has previously visited Nashville, Chicago, Washington D.C, New York City, Boston, Austin, Miami, Los Angeles and Philadelphia. It’s another chance for soccer fans in Kansas City to showcase why the city is a soccer town with less than a year before the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“The Premier League Mornings Live fan events are a celebration of everything we love about football — passion, community and unforgettable moments,” said Alan Shearer, the Premier League’s all-time leading goal scorer, in a press release. “I can’t wait to join supporters in Kansas City for my ninth fan festival visit, in a place that lives and breathes sport.”
Fans heading to KC Live! will have to get up bright and early to watch the action. Here’s what to know before you go.
