Tickets on sale soon for popular rapper’s first Kansas City area show in 6 years
The last time Cardi B popped up in Kansas City, she bought food for herself and others waiting in line at Town Topic. She may be due for another trip in March.
The New York-born rapper and reality TV star announced her first national tour in six years and her first arena tour in support of her newest album “Am I The Drama?” releasing Friday, Sept. 19.
The Little Miss Drama Tour makes its way to T-Mobile Center in Kansas City on Tuesday, March 17, she announced on social media.
“HELLO!! 🐦⬛ We putting the kids to bed early because the Little Miss Drama Tour is coming to a city near you!” she said on Instagram. “Sign up now thru this Sunday, Sept. 21 at 10pm PST for artist presale.”
General public tickets go on sale for Cardi B’s concert at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, on Ticketmaster. An artist presale begins Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m. for fans that sign up for early access, and Citi cardmembers and Verizon customers will have access to respective presales from 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, to 7 a.m. Sept. 23.
At 32 years old, Cardi B’s been nominated for 10 Grammy Awards throughout her career and won for Best Rap Album with her debut album, “Invasion of Privacy,” during the 2019 award ceremony. She was the first person of Dominican descent to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts with her single “Bodak Yellow” in 2017.
While this is her first album in seven years, she’s been busy releasing singles and providing guest verses on other artists’ songs. Tracks like “WAP,” with Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion topped the Billboard charts in 2020, and she’s been on popular songs with Bruno Mars, Maroon 5 and Peso Pluma.
Outside of the music realm, she guest-starred in kids’ television series “Baby Shark’s Big Show!” with her two children and hasn’t been shy about sharing her political beliefs and speaking out on social issues.
She’s also seen her fair share of controversies over the years. The star threw a shoe at and attempted to attack fellow rapper Nicki Minaj at a New York Fashion Week after-party in September 2018. In October 2018, she was arrested and charged with multiple Class A misdemeanors for her role in a fight at a New York City club, and she was recently on trial for an assault that took also place in 2018, but was found not liable.
Her tour starts Wednesday, Feb. 11, in Palm Desert, California, and will take her through cities like Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Seattle, Dallas, Denver, New York, Chicago, Toronto, Baltimore, Boston and Atlanta.
Cardi B last performed in the Kansas City area during Flyover, a one-day hip-hop music festival that took place at Azura Amphitheater in Bonner Springs in 2019.
