Cardi B heads to Kansas City burger joint after Beyoncé concert and buys food for fans
So what does a superstar like Cardi B do after a late-night concert?
She grabs something to eat.
And on Sunday night — actually, early Monday morning — that meant stopping at Kansas City’s famous open-all-night burger joint, Town Topic.
The rapper came to Kansas City to watch Beyoncé’s 56th and final concert of the Renaissance World Tour at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
Someone must have given Cardi the lowdown on Town Topic, because around 2 a.m. she was strutting and filming in the street outside the location at 20th and Broadway in the Crossroads. The concert, which started late, ended around 12:40 a.m.
“She was here,” Town Topic’s general manager, Misty Waite, told The Star on Monday. “The night girl waited on her. I know she got eight single cheeseburgers, eight double cheeseburgers, eight orders of fries, I think five orders of tater tots and a few drinks.”
And, Waite said, the singer bought food for 15 customers in line and took pictures with people out front.
She is certainly not the only celebrity who has found their way to Town Topic, which fans say serves the best cheeseburgers in Kansas City, grilled on onions, layered with pickles and blessed with mustard and ketchup on toasted buns.
Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid, somewhat of a cheeseburger connoisseur, is a known fan.
He was at the restaurant “not too long ago,” Waite said.
Cardi B “came right up to the order window,” she said, and paid with a credit card, so now Town Topic has her autograph, er, signature.
Videos of Cardi B strutting in front of the joint have gone viral.
TikToks show her doing a sexy runway walk in the street, talking to the camera and showing off the silvery gown that fit her curves like liquid skin — “Dominican Republic ‘thique,’” she laughed as she smoothed her hands over the dress.
There was most certainly no room in that dress for a cheeseburger.
Kansas City fans recognized from the background in the video that she was at Town Topic. But Waite wishes the video person had aimed their phone or camera a little higher.
“I wish she would have got our sign in there,” she laughed. “That’s all right. Everybody knows she was here.”
On Monday, Town Topic was busy with customers coming in wanting to order what Cardi B had.
