It’s not often when “God” walks into a Kansas City restaurant. So you can just imagine the double-takes when it happened Wednesday at Q39 in midtown.

And by God we mean Morgan Freeman.

The 88-year-old Oscar winner — who played God in the 2003 movie “Bruce Almighty” with Jim Carrey — brought his latest project to Kansas City this week for two nights at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.

The actor and seven musicians from Mississippi’s Delta region presented “Morgan Freeman’s Symphonic Blues Experience” with the Kansas City Symphony.

The man with the famously euphonious voice narrated a video about blues music while the musicians played classic blues songs backed by the symphony.

Before he arrived, Freeman told The Star this was his first visit to Kansas City. “It’s kind of amazing because I’ve been so many places in my lifetime,” said Morgan, who won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for “Million Dollar Baby.”

He didn’t have plans to visit any KC landmarks because time was tight. The show was Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

The Kauffman Center, by the way, was the only venue that has presented the show more than one night since it debuted in July in San Francisco.

“I’m not going to be there for very long, and it’s hard for me to move around places because there’s that thing, ‘Oh, my God, it’s Morgan,’ and, ‘Can I get a picture?’ That’s my drawback,” Morgan told The Star.

Well, he found time Wednesday to have barbecue at Q39’s original location in Midtown. And yes, he posed for a photo the restaurant shared on social media.

“It’s Morgan Freeman’s world and we’re just livin in it. Thanks for stopping by!” the caption read.

“I knew God loved BBQ!!!” one fan wrote on Facebook.

The restaurant didn’t reveal what Freeman ordered. But he reportedly told the audience at Wednesday night’s show that he had a mound of “burnt tips,” one Facebook user reported.

Sounds heavenly.

And as the Kansas Chiefs open their season in Brazil on Friday, here’s a reminder that the hometown team has “God” on its side.

In a 2023 interview with “CBS Mornings,” Freeman revealed that he’s a fan of the local Super Bowl winners, though at the time he didn’t seem much interested in the then-budding romance between tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, now engaged.

“I don’t think about them… at all,” Freeman said. “It’s great to watch Pat (Patrick Mahomes) run. You know, escape. He’s got a rifle for an arm; that’s all good. That’s what I’m interested in.”
