Two hurt in motorcycle, minivan crash on busy Kansas City Northland road

A collision between a motorcycle and a minivan sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries Wednesday evening in Kansas City’s Northland, a police spokesman said.

The crash happened about 4:40 p.m. at the intersection of Northwest Barry Road and Northwest Waukomis Drive, said Capt. Jake Becchina with the Kansas City Police Department.

The two victims were traveling east on Barry Road on a blue Vulcan Voyager motorcycle when a westbound black Chrysler Town and Country minivan turned left onto Waukomis Drive.

The motorcycle struck the minivan, and both the motorcyclist and passenger were thrown from the motorcycle.

Emergency medical crews took the motorcyclist and passenger to a hospital with critical injuries.

The motorcyclist was listed in critical condition, while the passenger’s injuries were described as serious.

The driver of the minivan was uninjured. Police continue to investigate the crash.
