Kansas City is getting new nonstop flight from KCI to this Texas city
Kansas Citians will have a quick route to a Texas destination starting next summer. Delta Air Lines is launching a new nonstop flight between Kansas City and Austin, Texas.
Starting on June 7, 2026, the routes will run twice a day between Kansas City International Airport, which uses the airport code MCI, and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). Delta will operate through its partner SkyWest using the Embraer 175 aircraft.
Delta has not released prices for the new flights, and nonstop tickets are not yet available on the airline’s website.
KCI already has a nonstop flight through Southwest Airlines to Austin, which takes 1 hour and 55 minutes, according to the Southwest ticket website.
The Austin airport is less than a 2 hour drive from the central Texas cities of Waco, Killeen and San Antonio.
Melissa Cooper, MCI’s director of aviation, said in a Friday press release that officials expect “next summer to be Kansas City’s busiest ever, and Delta’s decision to grow at MCI couldn’t be more well-timed.”
Kansas City Delta passengers can fly nonstop to 11 other cities:
- Atlanta
- Boston
- Cancun, Mexico (seasonal)
- Detroit
- Los Angeles
- Minneapolis-St. Paul
- New York
- Orlando, Florida (seasonal)
- Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina
- Salt Lake City
- Seattle
