Hunt-Green dynasty? Two Chiefs families together at preseason game in Arizona
Former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Trent Green returned to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday for the team’s first preseason game of the season.
Green and his wife, Julie Green, joined Chiefs CEO and owner Clark Hunt and his family in Arizona for the Chiefs-Cardinals game. The two families have more than football in common, and the Greens currently have ties to more than one local pro team through their children.
In May, Hunt’s oldest daughter, Gracie Hunt, went public with her new relationship with Derek Green, who bears a strong resemblance to his father, Trent.
She first introduced him with an Instagram picture of her hugging him at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, but his face was turned away from the camera leaving him a mystery man.
She quoted the title of a Taylor Swift song when she wrote: “After meeting 7.5 years ago in this place… all along there was some invisible string.”
Since then, Gracie has chronicled their blooming relationship on Instagram, including their summer adventures. But Derek did not appear to be with the families on Saturday.
Derek is the second-oldest of Green’s three children. Green was with the Chiefs for six seasons (2001-07).
Romance is definitely in the air for the Greens. Oldest son TJ proposed to KC Current defender Kayla Sharples in January.
Last month the women’s soccer team mic’d up Trent Green on media day and applauded him on X, writing: “@kaysharps, your soon to be father in-law killed it”
According to the couple’s wedding registry, they are getting married on January 3, 2026, in Chicago. Sharples is from Naperville, Illinois.
