The waiting game is on for Chappell Roan fans looking to secure tickets to her two shows in October in Kansas City.

The Willard, Missouri, native announced “Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things,” a series of concerts coming to Kansas City; New York; and Pasadena, California, in the fall.

The Grammy award-winning singer will perform Friday, Oct. 3, and Saturday, Oct. 4, at Museum and Memorial Park in Kansas City, near the National World War I Museum and Memorial. It previously hosted music festival Rockfest, the NFL Draft in 2023 and will be the site of FIFA’s Fan Festival area in Kansas City when the FIFA World Cup comes to North America in 2026.

Both nights will have a capacity of over 30,000, said Karis Erwin, vice president of marketing and guest service for the museum. Fans were able to register to purchase ticket between July 24 and 27 on the AXS ticket site.

For the fans that did register, you can expect them to be refreshing their email frequently over the next couple of days. Here’s why fans had to wait almost two weeks before getting the chance to buy tickets.

How is Chappell Roan making buying tickets fair for all?

Roan is using a ticketing process called Fair AXS to make sure tickets end up in the hands of fans. She said on social media on July 24 that the delay from registration to buying tickets is so she can prevent bots and scalpers from getting tickets.

“AXS will take the next week to try and remove bot or scalper emails and randomly select only real people who will be given access to purchase tickets,” Roan said.

Random registered users will be picked between Tuesday, Aug. 5, and Thursday, Aug. 7, for a chance to buy up to four tickets, AXS says. If selected, they will receive a private ticket purchase link via email. She said to make sure to check your spam folder in case the link is sent there if you were selected.

Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis to fans who received a link and they can purchase up to four tickets.

“An invitation email does not guarantee access to tickets, but an opportunity to purchase them based on availability,” AXS says. “These shows are in high demand and may sell out quickly.”

Tickets prices are unknown, but Roan is partnering with Cash App to offer 15% cash back on tickets purchased using the Cash App Visa debit card.

Fans who aren’t selected will receive an email with details on the waitlist starting Aug. 7.
