Chappell Roan announces surprise pop-up concerts in Kansas City this fall

Kansas City radio station 90.9 The Bridge teased a big announcement Thursday, and it involved Midwest’s princess.

All the radio hosts for The Bridge were in the studio to reveal the “Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things” pop-up shows from Willard, Missouri, native and pop star Chappell Roan, which will come to Kansas City on Friday, Oct. 3, and Saturday, Oct. 4.

It’s one of only three U.S. cities where the Grammy-winning pop star will appear for the limited tour.

Fans can register to purchase tickets between now and Sunday, July 27, at 10:59 p.m. CST on ticket site AXS. Random registered users will be picked between Tuesday, Aug. 5 and Thursday, Aug. 7, for a chance to buy up to four tickets, AXS says. If selected, they will receive a private ticket purchase link via email.

“I am sooooo excited to announce my Pop-Up Shows in New York, Kansas City, and Los Angeles this fall :D,” Roan said on Instagram. “I love these three cities so much + wanted the chance to do something special before going away to write the next album.”

The listing for Chappell’s Kansas City dates says she’ll perform at Museum and Memorial Park, which is the lawn area in front of Liberty Memorial and the National World War I Museum and Museum.

Both nights will have a capacity of over 30,000, said Karis Erwin, vice president of marketing and guest service for the museum.

The space previously hosted music festival Rockfest, the NFL Draft in 2023 and will be the site of FIFA’s Fan Festival in Kansas City when the FIFA World Cup comes to North America in 2026.

Radio hosts during the announcement joked that Museum and Memorial Park is what FIFA will call the area when the fan festival is active.
