Man pronounced dead after body pulled from Kansas City area lake, authorities say

A body was pulled from a Kansas City, Kansas, lake Sunday morning.

The Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office were called to Big Eleven Lake, located near North 11th Street and Washington Boulevard, around 10 a.m. on reports of an unresponsive man in the lake, according to Michael Kroening, spokesperson for the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office.

Firefighters with the Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department helped remove the man from the lake. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim is a Black man who appears to be in his 50’s, according to Kroening.

Officials did not say how long the man was believed to have been in the lake, nor did they release his name.
