Will my trash get picked up this Fourth of July? See Kansas City area schedules
This Fourth of July, some — but not all — Kansas City area trash pickup schedules will be delayed. See which ones.
Your trash schedule might not be top of mind this Independence Day between going to fireworks displays, making a last-minute run to the grocery store or getting startled by loud booms. But some area waste companies change their schedules for the holiday.
If you are cleaning up fireworks debris, be careful not to start a fire of your own. Soak unexploded fireworks and trash in water before putting it on the curb, the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, advised.
Many area municipalities contract out their residential trash pickup services. Check your local solid waste company if you live in Independence, Lee’s Summit, Overland Park, Prairie Village or Kansas City, Kansas, among other cities.
