Kansas City man, 21, killed in crash that injured two others in Sugar Creek

A Kansas City man died and two other people were injured in a crash in Jackson County Friday, according to a crash log from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Troopers responded to a reported crash in Sugar Creek around 9:45 p.m. According to the crash log, a 21-year-old man drove a 2001 Honda Accord east on North Cement City Road as a 54-year-old woman drove a 2015 Chrysler 300 south on Missouri 291 Highway.

According to the crash log, the 21-year-old male driver failed to yield at the intersection. The woman’s Chrysler 300 collided into the driver’s side door of the Honda Accord.

Both vehicles then traveled off the road and came to rest in the median, according to the crash log.

Paramedics pronounced the Kansas City man dead at the scene.

The highway patrol has not yet publicly identified the man.

A 19-year-old, who was a passenger in the Honda Accord, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, according to the crash log.

Paramedics took the 54-year-old woman to a hospital with minor injuries.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
