While President Donald Trump was set to attend a military parade he ordered on his birthday to recognize the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army in Washington, D.C., thousands of people in the Kansas City metro area flexed their First Amendment right Saturday to voice their opposition to polices of the Trump administration during the “No Kings” national day of defiance.
The “No Kings” rallies were held nationwide and in several communities in the Kansas City area.
Mill Creek Park near the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City and areas along 87th Street in Lenexa drew some of the largest crowds.
